BOK JINPA I
Bok Jinpa (Tibetan for “set fire to your meditation") is an eight-class course designed to give the practitioner a solid foundation and overview of Hindu Yogic and Tibetan meditation. This meditation course is based on two ancient books: Bhavana Krama (Steps of Meditation) written by Master Kamilashila in 750 AD and the Hatha Yoga Pradipika by Svatmarama in 1400.

While we discuss and delve into yogic and Tibetan philosophy and practice ancient meditations passed down a pure lineage, it is not defined by any one religious tradition. The course is designed to augment any belief system to increase peace, compassion, awareness, productivity, and happiness. We are all bliss seekers/pain avoiders. By the end of the course, practitioners will have concrete meditations they can practice that will increase stillness and enhance focus, hopefully leading to more bliss and a lot less suffering.

Jason Lamberth is a long-time student of Christianity, Buddhist and Hindu philosophy, as well as, Hatha Yoga.  Jason’ s search for spirituality, self-development, meditation and inner wisdom started while growing up within a large, fundamental Christian family in Florida.  While many of his relatives chose to become pastors in the Southern Baptist tradition, Jason moved to New York City, continuing to study the Bible,  also branching off to other traditions and philosophies including teachers like Krishnamurti, Paramahansa Yogananda, the Dalai Lama, Robert Johnson, and Eckhart Tolle among others.

After a life of soul-searching that weaved its way through a wide range of traditions, cultures, and vocations including playing American football at the University of Florida to studying theater in New York City to building a sculptural furniture company based in Bali, Jason came to appreciate the need for tolerance among all religious and philosophical traditions.  His approach to a personal spiritual practice includes all of life’s endeavors whether it is sports, art, religion, business, or family. “Everything and everyone is your teacher if you decide to see them that way.”
Jason has been teaching formal courses on meditation and creating an enlightened life for over four years.  His classes are popular in New York City, and Bali.  He has been married for 18 years, has two daughters, and splits his time designing furniture and teaching between Bali and Berlin.
Jason feels blessed to have studied and learned from many great teachers and would like to thank: James Connor and Dr. Lisette Garcia, Michael Gordon, Sharon Gannon and David Life, Steve O’Connor, Sophie McLean, and Dechen Thurman, among many others.

City Yoga, Jiv amukti Yoga & Spirit Yoga Teachers unite 4 Global Mala...
108 minutes 3 individual Hatha Yoga styles by donation and afterwards Kirtan-Concert and Vegan Potluck Garden Party

Global Mala Date: Sunday, 19.09.2010, from 5pm

Yoga around the World
On 19/09/2010, Yoga will be practiced around the world for a good cause. Global Yoga Mala Project is a worldwide event where one yoga class is strung together with the next one to a symbolic global mala chain. Due to the time difference, we are creating a 24 hour global chain of yoga classes. All proceeds will be donated for a good cause. Become a part of this global mala chain for peace around the world and take part in our Special Gloval Mala event at Jivamukti Yoga Berlin.

108 is a holy number. Each mala is made out of 108 stones or seeds. The Buddhism knows 108 senses. Shiva dances in 108 different postures. And so there are many more meanings for this special number.

For Global Mala 2010, we will offer a special 108min long team teaching class uniting three individual Hatha Yoga styles that are represented by Yoga teachers from the three major yoga studios of Berlin-Mitte. Become part of this great team teaching class with which we and the teachers want to prove that Yoga and all yoga styles stand for unity. Unity for world peace and for a good cause. Open for all Levels (and all styles of Yoga ;).

After the class we will have a great Kirtan-Concert and a vegan potluck gardenparty in our JYB summer garden.

RVSP: First come, first served. In order to enable us to better plan this event, we kindly ask you to RVSP for this class, either by e-mail to events@jivamuktiberlin.de or - ideally - via the Facebook event RVSP utility here.

Costs: Completely by donation. All proceeds will be donated without any deductions (see below). Suggested donation: 20 EUR or 10 EUR for students and unemployed. From 20 EUR donation on, you will be issued a tax deductible donation certificate by the end of the year.

Beneficiary: All proceeds from this class wil be donated to Tierfreunde Niederbayern e.V. This is not a regular animal shelter, but a very special project where people with a lot of personal engagement are saving animals mainly from south and south-east Europe which they coddle-up on a cosy farm and at their own homes before trying to find a new home for those poor animals. The donation procedure will be controlled under the strict supervision of our Yoga*Loft dog Arvinda, who herself has been lucky enough to have been saved as a spindly picture of misery from a knacker's yard in Hungary by Tierfreunde Niederbayern.

AnjaAnja Kühnel Anja is director of Jivamukti Yoga Berlin and Advanced Certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher.

She discovered her passion for Jivamukti Yoga in 2000 while living in New York for during a court internship. Back then, she also met her teachers Sharon Gannon and David Life for the first time.

Living as a Yogi means for Anja to try to balance up the disequilibrium between herself as part of human civilization and the world as a whole. In her classes, Anja strives to bring emphasis to the yogic tenet that none of our doings, might they be only thought or actually carried out, is without impact to our surroundings. In which direction the world turns, is in the hands of each single one of us.

The love to her life, to all beings and to this world as a whole motivate Anja to teach yoga. The path of yoga gives every single one of us the chance to grapple with our inner self and to find the harmony within us that we are longing for.

KathleenKathleen Kloss unterrichtet u.a. bei Spirit Yoga Berlin.

Ihr Motto: Make a Stronger Commitment with Yourself

Die Global Mala Kirtan-Band:

Global MalaJanin Devi & the Bhaktas There compassion for yoga and spiritual music brought them together in 2009. They are the great discovery of the famous american kirtan artist Dave Stringer who engaged them as his support band at the Berlin Kirtan Jam Sessions, the Berlin Yogafestival and the Yoga Vidya festival.

It is their greatest pleasure to introduce people all around Germany to Bhakti Yoga (yoga of devotion) through singing and music. It is the simplicity of their melodies, that makes them interestiing. A "Heja" starting out loud and ending very quietly.

Global Mala Vegan Potluck & Gardenparty:

Global MalaAfter our Global Mala class and the Kirtan concert we invite everyone to a vegan potluck gardenparty at the JYB summergarden. Potluck kommt aus dem Englischen und bedeutet eine Party, zu means a party where everyone brings their favourite dish/reciipe for the others to share. flying asana - yoga without touching ground

The workshop is taught in German, so the workshop description is German as well:)

Workshop Modul 2 - So., 26.09., 14-17 Uhr:

Kai Ribéreau is Certified Jivamukti yoga teacher. You probably already know him from his regular classes at JYB and you can find his bio here. Together with his partner Alexandra Ahammer, a teacher of Hatha-Yoga, ayurvedic yoga, business yoga and kids yoga, he has been practising and teaching Acro-Yoga and Thai Massage for a number of years now.
